Waiting List Mediation

Has your GP referred you to a specialist and have you ended up on a waiting list for treatment in a hospital, an independent treatment centre or a mental healthcare centre? The Care Advice & Mediation Team will help you find a place where you can be treated sooner.

Five steps towards waiting list mediation

  • Complete the Waiting List Mediation Application Form.
  • As soon as we have received the form, we will find the medical specialist or care institution that can help you as quickly as possible.
  • We will explain the options.
  • It is up to you to decide which option seems best for you.
  • We will give you all the information you need to be able to make further appointments.

We can also help you if you have already made an appointment for day care treatment, outpatient treatment or admission and are currently on a waiting list.

What are the standard waiting times for care?

We have agreed with the care providers to guarantee that you receive the care you need within the maximum waiting time deemed acceptable, known as the ‘Treek standards'. These standards are determined in joint consultation between care providers and healthcare insurers. In urgent cases, the necessary medical assistance must be provided as soon as possible (within several hours).
